Suspect Accused of Pulling Gun in Walmart

Tracy Kane, 39, of Meriden, is accused of pulling a gun during a shoplifting incdent at the Newington Walmart on the Berlin Turnpike Monday.

Police arrested a man Monday after he pulled a gun on a Walmart security guard.

Officers responded to the report of a shoplifting incident in progress at the Walmart at 3164 Berlin Turnpike in Newington at 11:31 a.m. According to police, the suspect pulled a gun on a security guard before fleeing in a green Chevy Blazer.

A responding officer spotted an SUV matching the description of the suspect's vehicle pulling into the Lowe's parking lot just up the road. Police stopped the car and arrested Tracy Kane, 39, of Meriden.

Officer found the gun allegedly used by Kane in a grassy area near where they stopped his SUV.

Kane was charged with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a permit. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
