There were several evacuations in Simsbury and a road was closed after a construction crew hit a high-pressure gas main around 11 a.m.
Route 315, or Tariffville Road, was closed at St. Johns Place in Simsbury, according to the Simsbury Fire Department, but has reopened.
A large daycare called Educational Playcare was evacuated,. Parents can pick their children up at the center at any time.
The Old Well Tavern and few homes on St. James Place were been evacuated.
CNG responded to shut off the gas and the leak was stopped around noon.
Police said they allowed people to access the area around 12:20 p.m.
