1 Injured in Southington Shooting

One person is in the hospital following a shooting in Southington overnight, police said.

Authorities said a 22-year-old  man was shot in a parking lot off Center Street just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

The victim has not been identified. He was rushed to a local hospital and is undergoing surgery, police said.

Authorities arrested 32-year-old Jesus Morales of New Britian. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, assault in the first- degree, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
