Speed a Factor in Fatal Crash: Cops

Bristol police believe speed might have been a major factor in a crash that killed a 19-year-old Bristol man on Sunday.

Joshua Chora, of Hill Street, was driving a 2000 Toyota Celica when it went off the road and struck a large tree on Crown Street, police said.

Several residents called 911 just before 2:30 p.m. to report the crash.

Chora was the only person in the car and had to be extricated by the Bristol Fire Department.

Shortly after being transported by EMS to Bristol Hospital, Chora was pronounced dead.

Chora graduated from Bristol Central High School last year and was attending the University of Connecticut.

The Bristol Police Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate the crash, but police said speed appears to be a factor.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3030.
