St. Mary's Partners With Trinity Health

St. Mary's Health System has joined Trinity Health, the Roman Catholic hospital system that also merged with Hartford's Saint Francis Care, Mount Sinai Rehabilitation and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs.

The state Department of Public Health's Office of Health Care Access approved the transaction on Wednesday and Saint Mary's on Friday became the fifth hospital to affiliate with Trinity Health-New England.

“Today we celebrate another important milestone as we welcome another compassionate, caring partner to the Trinity Health - New England family,” Christopher M. Dadlez, president and chief executive officer of Trinity Health - New England, said in a statement. “Our new colleagues at Saint Mary’s will be integral partners in advancing our goal of offering people-centered health care closer to home."

Saint Mary’s will maintain its own board of directors. Trinity Health - New England is governed by a separate regional board of trustees comprised of local community representatives as well as physician and Catholic organization representatives.
