An ex-paramedic took a friendship to a strange and dangerous level by stalking a woman and performing unnecessary medical procedures on her.

In December, Jennifer Mardi, 37, was accused of trying to rekindle a friendship with a Stamford woman by creating fake e-mail alias, including a doctor, the Stamford Advocate reports.

She also administered a saline solution to the woman, drew her blood and gave her shots, and admitted to it in a statement to police, the Advocate reports, citing Assistant State's Attorney Dina Urso.

Mardi pleaded guilty in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to five years of probation. She has spent 30 days in jail as part of a plea bargain.

Mardi's lawyer says she's a good person who is getting counseling and won't be getting into trouble again.

She also won’t be spending time with the woman because of a restraining order or treating other people because a judge made her hand over her paramedic’s license.
