Stamford Man Accused of Groping Women at Occupy Wall Street

Stamford man told newspaper he was there to "get wasted."

A Stamford man arrested during an Occupy Wall Street protest in New York is accused of groping women and told a New York newspaper that there are warrants for his arrest.

David Park, 27, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, accused of grabbing a woman’s rear end in Zuccotti Park, the New York Post reports.

It appears that Park was crashing the protest because one protester told the Post that they've been asking him to leave and complained that Park’s giving them all a bad name by grabbing women.

The day before his arrest, the Post published a story quoting “Dave” as saying his friends told him the protests were a good place to get food and "get wasted."

He also told the reporter that he his quite a criminal past.

“I got warrants. I’m running from the law. … I’m not even supposed to be here, but it’s as good a spot as any to hide,” he told the Post.

Court records show multiple charges for a David Park, age 27, in Connecticut, but it's not clear if it is the same David Park.

Park, who is homeless, was arrested in September in Stamford. He was charged with breach of peace and attempted larceny after trying to steal a six-pack of beer from a downtown store, the Stamford Patch reports
