State Police Announce Holiday DUI Checkpoints

The State Police will add patrols over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and troopers will focus on drunken drivers and target aggressive and unsafe drivers. 

Here is where they will be:

Western Connecticut

Wednesday roving patrols

• Route 8 in Thomaston/Watertown
• Interstate 95 between New Haven and Stamford
• Routes 8 and 25 between Bridgeport, Trumbull and Shelton.
• Greater Waterbury area

Wednesday DUI Checkpoint: Waterbury Road and Route 262 in Thomaston and the Watertown town line.

Thursday roving patrols

• Routes 8 and 4 in of Goshen and Torrington
• Greater Waterbury area

Friday roving patrols

• Routes 8 and 44 in Winsted, Barkhamsted and New Hartford
• Routes 8 and 25 between Bridgeport, Trumbull and Shelton
• Interstate 95 between New Haven and Stamford
• Greater Waterbury area

Saturday roving patrols

• Route 7 and 44 in North Canaan, Falls Village and Norfolk
• Interstate 95 between New Haven and Stamford
• Routes 8 and 25 between Bridgeport, Trumbull and Shelton
• Greater Waterbury area

Sunday roving patrols

• Routes 44, 202 and 219 in Torrington, New Hartford and Barkhamsted
• Greater Waterbury area

Central Connecticut

Police in local communities are also adding patrols.

Stratford police will increase patrols from Wednesday through Saturday morning.
