College students and other activists will gather at the state Capitol on Thursday to rally for marijuana reform.
The University of Connecticut’s chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy is calling for reforms to the state’s marijuana policy and for the passage of medical marijuana legislation during the new session.
They had planned to rally today as lawmakers went into session, but decided that Thursday would be more effective.
Last summer, legislators voted to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana. In 2007, then-Gov. M. Jodi Rell vetoed a medical marijuana bill.
