Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting outside of the Bishops Corner Café in Bridgeport last month.

Police from Bridgeport and Ansonia arrested Jamel Russell, 30, of Belleview Terrace in Ansonia, on Tuesday morning and charged him with murder and carrying a pistol without a permit. Bond was set at $1 million.

Russell is accused of shooting Voiese Pinn on Sept. 8. Pinn succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 14 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Police said both men knew each other and the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a prior dispute.

This was the city’s 18th of the year, according to police.
