Bridgeport police have arrested a suspect in one of the three fatal shootings in Bridgeport over a three-day span.
Neftali Beniquez Velez, 33, of Waterbury has been charged in the shooting death of Mayro Santiago.
Santiago, 35, was found shot to death on East Main Street at 1:25 p.m. Monday, according to police.
Velez was taken into custody in Waterbury early on Wednesday morning. He has been charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm and unlawful discharge.
Bond was set at $1 million.
The shooting happened less than a mile away from where Keijahnae Robinson, a 15-year-old girl, was shot and killed outside a home on Saturday morning.
Mi Lin Zhao, a 30-year-old restaurant owner, was also killed when he was shot during a robbery on Wood Avenue on Saturday morning, according to police.
