Suspect in Hartford Murder Surrenders: Cops

Omar Santana was killed in a shooting at the corner of Sisson Avenue and Fales Street in Hartford on the afternoon of Oct. 5 and police have a suspect in custody.

He was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Oct. 11, police said they were looking for  David Velazquez, 36, of Hartford and had obtained a warrant charging him with the murder of Santana.

He surrendered to police on Friday morning and is in custody on $1 million bond.

He is due in Hartford Superior Court for arraignment.
