A man has been arrested after he posted pictures of himself with what appeared to be a decaying corpse, according to Norwich police.
Police said several Norwich residents called them, alarmed by a Facebook post that appeared to show a man with a decaying corpse he said he found in the woods on Lake Street in Norwich.

When police investiged, they identified the person as Christopher Mayo, 34, and searched the woods on Lake Street, but found nothing.
Officers later found Mayo nearby and determined the posts were a hoax.
Mayo was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace. He was held on a $250 surety bond and was scheduled a court date on September 12 in Norwich.
