Suspicious Fire Investigated at Montville Daycare

Police are investigating a fire in Montville.

State police are investigating what they are calling a suspicious fire at a vacant daycare in Montville.
Fire started at 1127 Old Colchester Road around 5:40 p.m. on Monday.

Residents reported the fire, which stared in a day care that was unoccupied at the time of incident, according to state police.

An accelerant detection dog was brought in as officials investigated the fire and detectives from Eastern District Major Crime and Troop E responded to the scene.

Police said no injuries were reported.

The town fire marshal office, troopers from the State Fire Marshal, the State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad and Troop E are investigating. 

Police ask anyone with information about the fire to call the State Police at Troop E 860-848-6500.  All calls will be kept confidential.
