Naugatuck police are investigating after a suspicious man approached girl and offered her candy.

Naugatuck police are looking for the man who approached a 13-year-old girl this morning and asked if she wanted candy, police said.

The girl told police that a heavy-set man approached her in a green minivan at Millville and May streets at 7:15 a.m. on Friday and asked if she wanted candy.

He looked like he was 50 to 55 years old, had short hair and was wearing a blue shirt, according to police.

Police searched the area, but did not find anyone.

Authorities have notified all schools in the borough and ask anyone with information to call the Naugatuck police tip line at 203-720-1010.
