Good news if you are under the age of 24 -- you can now get the swine flu vaccine.  With conditions.

The Connecticut health department has revised its eligibility requirements for the H1N1 vaccine.  Now people from age 2 through 24 can get the nasal spray.  It's for people who have contact with or are caregivers for infants under 6-months-old, or if you are a health care worker who has direct contact with patients or infectious material.

Rules for the inactivated shot have also changed.  Kids from 6 months through 6-years-old can now roll up their sleeves.  And children age 7 through 24 with high risk medical conditions can also get the vaccine.

Those at higher risk for influenza-related complications include pregnant women, people with asthma or heart, liver of kidney disorders.

According to the website, as more vaccine becomes available, the target groups will also include all people between age 5 and 24, and those between 25 and 64 who are at higher risk due to chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.

Eventually, the state adds, that the vaccine will become available to those who are not in the target groups.

If you want the vaccine, you are still told to contact your health care provider or find your local health department or district.
