The art director of Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk will spend a year in jail for having sex with a student, the Connecticut Post reports.
John Tate, 54, was arrested in April, accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student and giving her with liquor.
He was in court on Friday and a judge handed down what the Post reports was an agreed-upon eight-year prison sentence, suspended after a year on charges.
The girl told Norwalk Police Department she and Tate had intercourse 20 times, including in a classroom and at a cemetery, the Post reports, citing the arrest warrant affidavit.
