Toss The Turkey And Bring On The Bargains

Gearing up for Black Friday deals.
Bargain hunters no longer have to wait for Black Friday to find good deals. People looking to beat the rush had the option of shopping on Thanksgiving day. Stores like Wal-Mart, Old Navy, and K-Mart opened their doors on Turkey Day.
"They have sales that start today," said Vivian Sheen from Plantsville. "I've already been to Old Navy."
Vivian Sheen was not alone. Whether they were items they needed, or a chance to preview Friday's big sales, some shoppers didn't rest after their turkey dinner.
"I'm just browsing around. I thought I was going to catch some sales before tomorrow morning," said Mildred Reyes, who spent part of her Thursday night at Wal-Mart.
For those willing to wait until Black Friday to begin their holiday shopping, lines began forming in front of stores like Best Buy Thursday. Victor Otero was first in line at the Best Buy in Newington. He's been there since noon on Thanksgiving.
"No, no turkey today," said Otero. "I was willing to give that up to be here and get all the things I wanted."
Wal-Mart has stepped up their security with large crowds expected tomorrow. They hired New Britain Based Elite Security Forces to proved crowd control. Last year an employee was trampled to death in Long Island.
Still, despite the big lines and big crowds, there are plenty of people say it's worth the sacrifice to save money on their holiday shopping.
"It's crazy inside the store," said Malena Pino after leaving Old Navy Thursday. "I mean a lot of jeans. Jeans on sale. 10-15 dollars for a pair of jeans. Can't beat that."
