Torrington Police say what began as an arrest for a man and a woman having sex on the hood of a car, ended with felony assault charges
It was a bizarre night in Torrington. Police tell the Republican American that what began as an arrest for a man and a woman having sex in public ended with felony assault charges.
Police were called to Torrington Honda on Migeon Avenue on Thursday afternoon after witnesses reported seeing Mindy Lomento, 41, and David Perry, 23, having sex on the hood of a new, blue Honda sedan.
"The complaint was that a male and female were having sex on the car with their pants off at the dealership's lot," police Sgt. Patric Berardinelli told the newspaper.
When officers arrived, Mindy Lomento had moved on from Perry and was in a nearby wooded area having sex with a second man, Gregory S. Wanklin, 34, police said.
Police say Perry admitted to the tryst and said Lomento didn't charge him anything for it. Perry was arrested on breach of peace, public indecency and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. While Lomento and Wanklin were also charged with breach of peace.
But their late night romp did not end there. As Perry and Lomento were taken to police headquarters, they kicked and punched officers, police said. Both were additionally charged with assault on and interfering with police, said Berardinelli. None of the officers were seriously hurt.
