Three Shot Inside East Haven Bar

Three people were shot inside Mango's Bar in East Haven.

East Haven Police say three people were shot inside Mango's Bar early Sunday.

Police were called to the Hemingway Avenue bar and restaurant just before 2:00 a.m. after receiving several calls of people shot inside. 

Upon arrival, police found three victims shot, suffering from non-life threatening injuries.  They were taken to Yale-New Haven and St. Raphael's Hospital.

The suspect had fled the scene by car before police arrived, and is described as a Latino male, 5'5", with a ponytail, wearing a black fitted baseball hat with a do-rag underneath, and a black jacket. 

Anyone with information is asked to call East Haven Police at 203-468-3820.

In an unrelated incident, two East Haven police officers sustained minor injuries when a drunk driver rear-ended their cruiser during a traffic stop. 

Police said the driver, 28-year-old Anthony Bachinski of East Haven rear-ended the cruiser on North High Street and kept driving before being stopped by police.  He was arrested and charged with DUI, evading responsibility and improper passing.
