Toddler Dies After Fall

A toddler was badly injured falling from construction equipment.

A toddler who fell from construction equipment at a home in Branford on Monday evening has died, according to officials.

The Branford Police and Fire departments responded to 172 Laurel Hill Road around 5:30 p.m. and treated a 2-and-a-half-year-old boy who had apparently fallen from a piece of equipment.

His grandfather was present when he fell, according to a press release.

The boy was transported to a local medical facility with injuries to the face and head and later died.

Police are still investigating the incident.
