A Tolland teenager is on life support after an ATV crash in New Hampshire over the weekend.

Angela Maher, 18, was thrown over the handlebars of the ATV she was driving when she made a jump during a practice session at Jolly Roger Moto-cross Track on Saturday afternoon, the Union Leader reports.

Fire Chief Barbara Chadwick told the Keene Sentinel that Maher suffered a brain stem stroke and was declared brain dead shortly after the crash.

Maher is part of a New England ATV riders group and has been ranked is among the top women in her class, the Sentinel reports.

She is hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. A message left for the hospital was not immediately returned.

Her Facebook page lists her as a 2009 graduate of Tolland High School.
