A tractor-trailer carrying tens of thousands of pounds of steel coil overturned in New London Friday.
New London police said the truck crashed the area of North Frontage Road in New London. The ramp toward Interstate 95 South was closed immediately following the crash.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Tete Adote of Hamden, suffered minor injuries. He was issued a summons for reckless driving. The Connecticut State Police Truck Unit responded for equipment violations and is investigating.
Police said the crash resulted in a loss of 51,000 pounds of steel coil. There was also damage to the granite curb and guardrail.
