A tractor-trailer veered off I-91 North Sunday morning and ended up across a road in Wallingford.
The accident happened near Exit 13, according to state police.
The truck went down the embankment, through the woods, took down power lines, and crashed into the bridge foundation on Pond Hill Road, police said.
Pond Hill Road was completely blocked by the truck.
United Illuminating responded to the scene to shut off power to the downed wires.
It is not clear if there were any injuries.
