Two Accused of Stealing Mail from Homes

Stratford police have arrested two men suspected of stealing mail from homes.

Officers arrested Kenyata Williams, 32, and Andre Salmon, 31, on Monday after a detective saw them stealing mail from residential mailboxes on East Broadway in Stratford, police said.

The two men had mail from several homes in the area when they were taken into custody, police said. 

Police notified postal inspectors, who told police the two men might be linked to other mail thefts in the state, police said.

Williams was charged with five counts of larceny in the sixth degree, five counts of criminal trespass and interfering with an officer. 

Police said he is probation and he had an outstanding warrant for armed robbery in Florida.

Salmon, who was also on probation, was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree and violation of probation and remanded to custody by probation officers.
