Two Injured in Head-On Plainfield Crash

One person was airlifted to the hospital and another transported for treatment with injuries in Plainfield late Saturday night.

Plainfield police received a 911 call about a two-car crash near 468 Norwich Road at about 10:22 p.m. on Saturday.

Daniel Duprey, 25, of Pomfret Center, lost control of his 1997 GMC K1500 Pickup while traveling in the southbound direction and struck a telephone pole, spinning his car 180 degrees, police said. An oncoming 2010 black Subaru Outback driven by Kelly Alimandi, 46, of Pomfret Center, collided head-on with Duprey's car, according to police.

Both Duprey and Alimandi were transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Duprey was initially taken to the emergency room there, but then a LifeStar helicopter transferred him to Hartford Hospital.

Both are listed in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
