Two Meriden Cops Struck at DWI Checkpoint

Two Meriden police officers were injured when a driver struck them at a DWI checkpoint.

 

Two Meriden police officers were struck by drunk driver during a DWI checkpoint on East Main St. in Meriden at 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

Detective Robert Milslagle and Detective Joseph Robison were removing a warning sign in the right turning lane when they were hit.

Witnesses tell police the driver swerved from the center lane to the right turning lane and hit the officers. Milsagle and Robison were taken to Hartford Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Zynia Alvarez, 25, of West Haven, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and two counts of assault with a motor vehicle. She is being held on a $250,000 bond.

I am very glad that the cops were not seriously injured, however I am also hurting for HER family as well and they know why. How funny would it have been if it was your kids or parents that were hit by an Irresponsible drunken driver. Let her stay in jail and think about what she did.

Blunted wrote "looks like these two literally found their perp up close and personal"...are you kidding me? They could have been killed! Both of these men work with my father.
