• A Witness Monday, Nov 24 at 10:03 AM FLAG COMMENT The overall situation is horrible. Let's just pray for all who were involved and especially for the families of both sides. I am very glad that the cops were not seriously injured, however I am also hurting for HER family as well and they know why. This type of situation is what happens when YES a GREAT person makes a horrible and stupid decision on their part. We make dumb decisions every day and we should always be considerate of what the possible outcome may be. I pray something like this opens up everyone's eyes to the effects that alcohol can have on you, even if you think you have it under control. You NEVER have control once you go over your limit. Sometimes there are better things waiting for you at home which are not worth the risk of a buzz. But as humans we all think it cant happen "to me". This is a perfect example of how it can. Also maybe people should be looking at your local bars and clubs that are offering OPEN BAR to people all with in the 21 age range. Do you feel safe knowing that?? How funny would it have been if it was your kids or parents that were hit by an Irresponsible drunken driver. Let her stay in jail and think about what she did.You have got to be kidding me. Blunted wrote "looks like these two literally found their perp up close and personal"...are you kidding me? They could have been killed! Both of these men work with my father. They signed up for this "extra job" to help keep the peopel driving in Meriden safe from intoxicated drivers. The driver, in this case, has been arrested before for DUI/DWI...she has had chances to change. When will she? When she kills herself in an accident or someone else? I understand people make mistakes...that is what makes us human. However, perhaps she should take a long hard look at this weekends events, and look to change. ... MORE >
• Jim Sunday, Nov 23 at 8:32 PM FLAG COMMENT "Bestie" and "Bob" are making jokes or making light of what this driver did. "Free Zynia?"and "Did I do that?" NOT funny. The two officers could have been paralyzed or killed by her negligence, and yeah, "kelley", why do we need to look at ourselves and start change there? who said anything about anger and hate? If you break the law, and almost kill someone, you go to jail. Pray for her all you want, but she made the decision to drink and drive. Be glad she didn't crash into you or your family, and didn't kill someone you love---she's lucky to get off with a DUI instead of manslaughter. ... MORE >
