Two People Rescued from Apartment Fire

Firefighters rescued two people from an evening blaze in Derby Friday.

Emergency crews responded to 130 Main Street just after 7:00 p.m.

The pair appeared to be conscious and were transported to Griffin Hospital in unknown condition, said Derby Fire Chief, Tom Lenart.

At least two apartment units were damaged by the fire and appeared to sustain smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
