Victim Identified in Fatal House Fire

One person is dead and another is injured after a fire broke out in a home in Meriden Saturday afternoon, according to officials.

According to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office, Joel Kleinman was pronounced dead at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden after a fire broke out at his home on 55 Corrigan Ave.

Kleinman's wife, Jayne Kleinman, is being treated at Mid State Medical Center. Hospital officials would not release her condition

Fire crews were called to the home at 5:20 p.m.

The fire started on the second floor where rescuers found both Joel and Jayne Kleinman, said Assistant Chief Finnegan.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
