Hartford police are investigating after two people were shot during a home invasion on Boothbay Street on Saturday evening.

According to police, the victims were sitting in a living room at 68 Boothbay Street when two men wearing masks entered the home and demanded money.

Police said one intruder had a handgun and started firing shots. The victims ran and hid but were both struck by bullets. One victim, a 30-year-old Hartford man, was shot in the lower leg. The second victim, a 28-year-old man, also of Hartford, was shot in the abdomen and upper thigh. Both victims’ injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.

The intruders fled in an unknown direction. It’s not clear if police have identified any suspects.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division is investigating.
