Vandals Leave Threatening Message on School Slide: Police

There is extra police presence at Milford schools after vandals left graffiti in a Milford elementary school playground that referenced harming children, according to police.

The vandalism was found Tuesday morning on a playground slide at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, located at 404 West Avenue, Milford and Milford Police are investigating.

Police said school staff and some students found graffiti written in marker and said it was not about a specific person, the John F. Kennedy Elementary School or any other school.

School staff isolated the area until police arrived and investigators don’t think there is any direct threat.

Police are working closely with the Milford Board of Education and school support services are being offered to students and school staff members.

As a precaution, there is an increased police presence at the Milford Public Schools.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Detective Haas of the Milford Police Special Investigations Unit at (203) 783-4771, email whaas@ci.milford.ct.us or submit a tip online.
