    Police are looking for the vandals who spray painted houses and cars in West Haven. This car was on Haystack Road.

    Vandals struck West Shore neighborhoods of West Haven overnight, spray-painting several houses and cars, police said.

    The vandalism happened on Lake Street, Jones Hill Road, Connecticut Avenue, Benham Hill Road, Haystack Road and areas around the Seth G Haley Elementary School, according to the West Haven Police.

    The culprits spray-painted vulgar images along the way. Connecticut Avenue and Dawson Avenue were among the hardest streets hit.

    In each case, the vandals painted the letters MC.

    "We've never had anything like this in the 38 years we've been living in this neighborhood," said resident Herbie Johnson.

    "I'm upset now," said Bob Rudy, who lives in the area. "I'm nervous."

    West Haven police are looking for clues as to who is behind the graffiti.
