Police are searching for the man who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy at gunpoint in Vernon on Saturday and believe he might be responsible for other pharmacy robberies in the area.

Just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, a man walked into the Walgreens on Route 83 at Dart Hill Road, approached the pharmacist and took out a handgun, police said.

He got away with an unidentified amount of prescription drugs, according to police. No one was injured during the incident.

The man is 5-feet-10 to 6-feet tall. He was wearing a baseball hat, sunglasses, a dark long-sleeved crewneck sweatshirt and dark pants.

Police said the man might be connected to several other pharmacy robberies, including the Sept. 15 robbery of a Manchester Walgreens, the Sept. 25 robbery of a CVS in South Windsor, the Oct. 3 robbery of a Walgreens in Meriden and the Oct. 11 robbery of an East Hartford CVS.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Vernon police at 860-872-9126.
