A 20-year-old Vernon woman was killed in a crash in Tolland early Monday morning.

Police have identified her as Victoria Shustock, of Windsor Avenue in Vernon.

At 4:46 a.m., state police received a call reporting that a car struck a telephone pole on Route 31 near Dockerel Road and found a 2002 Kia Sportage fully engulfed off the side of the road.

It had flipped over and Shustock had been thrown from the car, police said.

Tolland EMS and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

There were no passengers in the car.

Mile Hill Road was closed in Tolland between Reed and Dockeral roads as a result of the fatal crash.

This case remains under investigation and police ask any witnesses to call Trooper Tillman Cormier of State Police Troop C in Tolland, CT at 860-896-3200 Ext. 8000.
