Norwalk police have charged a Virginia man with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to minor.

Police said the case police said happened several years ago but was brought to the attention of police when Edwin Espinosa, 59, of Manassas, Virginia, recently tried to contact the victim, who is a teenager and family acquaintance.

Espinosa, who had moved from Connecticut to Virginia, was extradited, held on $50,000 bond and arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday.

The case was transferred to Part A at Stamford Superior Court.
