A Wesleyan University student is accused of using a cell phone to snap photos of a female in a dorm shower on Tuesday.

Police arrested Robert Rotaru, 19, and charged him with voyeurism.

The victim told Middletown police that said she was in the shower and was aware that a male student was in the shower stall next to her. The dorm and bathroom is co-ed.

According to a police report, the girl heard the other shower shut off and then saw Rotaru's hand with a camera phone reach under her stall attempting to take pictures of her twice. She asked him what he was doing and he replied "I'm sorry" before leaving the bathroom, according to police.

During questioning, Rotaru, of Higganum, admitted to taking four pictures in the shower, police said. Two of the pictures turned out to be of his own hand, and two were of the victim's legs.

Rotaru was taken to Middletown Police Headquarters where he was processed on the charges and then released. He is due in court on Wednesday.

Police said this was an isolated incident and they do not believe there are any other victims.
