WWE Pulls “Edgier” Footage Amid Senate Race

The wrestling company Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon formerly led said it's removing "some dated and edgier footage from digital platforms."

That's prompting a spokesman for her opponent, Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, to charge that McMahon doesn't want voters to see that her business experience "comes from selling explicit sex and violence to children."

WWE, formerly known as World Wrestling Entertainment, said some footage has been misused in political environments without any context or explanation of when it was produced.

The company said it has produced programming for years that's rated PG in primetime, and most recently rated G on Saturday mornings.

On Friday, a spokesman for McMahon's campaign referred comment to WWE.
