Wake to Be Held Sunday for South Glastonbury Soldier

Family and friends of Sgt. Steven DeLuzio will be gathering to pay their final respects to the 25-year-old South Glastonbury soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.

DeLuzio, a member of the Vermont National Guard, was killed on Sunday, Aug. 22 when his patrol came under attack near Paktiya, Afghanistan. Sgt. Tristan Southworth, of Walden, Vermont, was also killed in the attack.

Calling hours for DeLuzio will be held on Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury.

A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. 

DeLuzio will be buried with full military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury after the funeral service.
