Sullivan Avenue, or Route 194, in South Windsor will be closed for much of the day because of a water main break.
The break is near Geissler’s supermarket and traffic will be diverted onto Hillside Drive and Graham Road.
The repair is expected to be completed at about 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. and police are asking drivers to avoid the area and use an alternate route today.
Police have also alerted the school bus company and put up detour signs.
