Weekend Shootings Leave 2 Dead in Bridgeport

Two men were killed in separate weekend shootings in Bridgeport.

Police said Kendall Willis, 39, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car on Staples Street on Sunday afternoon after being shot in the head.

The Connecticut Post reports that (http://bit.ly/1U1Ug3Z) Willis had a criminal history of dealing drugs in the Trumbull Gardens housing project.

That shooting came less than 24 hours after a 33-year-old man was shot to death outside the restaurant where he worked.

Police said Derrick Hill died at the scene Saturday night outside the Rootsman Kitchen on Park Avenue.

The restaurant's owner, Dennis Hines, 50, was struck in the buttocks by a stray bullet.

Police said he was taken to St.Vincent's Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
