Wesleyan Student Assaulted Near Campus

    A Wesleyan University student was assaulted near campus on Saturday night while walking on Church Street in Middletown, according to a university spokeswoman.

    The male student was walking near the science center just before 7:30 p.m. when he was approached by six to eight young men and hit in the face.

    The student was treated for facial injuries at a local hospital.

    University police or Middletown police are investigating.

    Anyone with information is urged to call police.
