West Hartford Bakery to Donate Proceeds to French Red Cross

A West Hartford French bakery will donate some proceeds from every sale in December to help victims of the terror attacks in Paris.

Alexandra Litor, owner of La Petite France, on Farmington Avenue, will donate 5 percent of every sale this month of December to the French Red Cross.

Litor is from Levallois Perret, a town just outside of Paris, and met her husband while attending school in Paris, according to a news release from the public relations agency representing the restaurant.

“After watching the horror of 911 from afar I never thought Paris would suffer such brutality,” Litor said in a news release. “I want to let the people of Paris know that my heart and all our hearts are with them. During this season of giving I want to do everything I can to remind people of the good still left in this world.”

On Sunday, December 13, the one-month anniversary of the attacks, Litor will also donate all the proceeds from the sale of her French baguettes to the organization.
“The city of light suffered its darkest hours and my wanting to help those in need is so very personal. ‘Vive la France,’” Litor said.
