More Scattered Showers, Storms Possible Today

Storms are rolling through shoreline towns and into Rhode Island this morning and there could be more statewide later today.

Most of the state will enjoy a dry morning drive, but scattered showers and embedded thunder and lightning storms are possible.

Later in the day, the rest of the state could see scattered showers and storms.

Thunder and lightning storms went through New Haven, Branford, Guilford and Milford, New Haven and Guilford this morning.

The heaviest rain was along Route 12 and Interstate 395 in Moosup and Sterling. The area also saw lightning.

Temperatures will be in the 70s to 80s today and high humidity is expected this week.

Most of Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry and Tuesday to Thursday could bring a possible heat wave, with temperatures on Thursday expected to reach 93 degrees.

Sun is in the forecast for Friday to Sunday, with temperatures in the high 80s.
