Ice Contributes to Rollover Crashes

After the snow will come the rain.

The last day of February is starting with an icy morning commute as rain falls in below freezing temperatures.

Three cars have rolled over on Interstate 91 in Enfield and officials said the crashes are weather-related.

Temperatures will warm above freezing during the morning and freezing rain will change to plain rain.

Cold temperatures in the morning, heavy rainfall and the mix of rain and snow melt might pose a flood threat on Monday afternoon in parts of Connecticut.

The biggest concerns with the coming rain are localized street flooding and basement flooding. Additionally with large amounts of ice on local rivers the potential for flooding upstream of ice jams is possible as well.
