A car slammed through the Turcotte's Griswold St. home in Glastonbury Monday morning.
When Richard and Cheryl Turcotte were awakened by a huge bang early Monday morning, they didn't expect to see what they saw in their house.
A car had crashed through the corner of thier historic Griswold Street home.
"I looked in the bathroom and there wasn't any, and I said 'oh my God what happened?'," Cheryl Turcotte said.
The driver blew through a stop sign at 2:30 a.m. up onto the Turcotte's lawn and right through the house, police said.
The car also totalled the Turcotte's two vehicles as well.
"She must've been going pretty fast to do this much damage," Richard Turcotte said.
The stress of the situation caused the Turcotte's 17-year-old granddaughter to have a seizure. She was taken to the hospital, but expected to be alright.
The driver of the car was not seriously injured. Police have not said if they will file charges.
The family remodeled the home ten years ago. Until then, their bedroom was right where the car hit the house.
"It is overwhelming, but you know what, we're all OK and that's the important thing," Cheryl Turcotte said. "Houses can be put back together, but lives sometimes can't."
