Gusty winds took down trees and power lines across Connecticut Saturday.

A downed tree blocked Covey Road at the intersection of Upson Road in Burlington.   More limbs were reported down in Berlin on Norton Road.  Trees took down wires in the center of East Granby, but power was quickly restored according to police.

Wind speeds of 15 to 35 mph are expected Saturday with gusts reaching 50 mph.

CL&P reported outages as high as 7,000 Saturday morning, the most concentrated in East Granby, Burlington and Groton.  That number is expected to fluctuate throughout the day.
