Windsor Locks Officials Back Plan for Casino

Windsor Locks is moving forward with a proposal for a new casino after board members voted to endorse a plan submitted to Connecticut's tribes.

But before it can happen, the town will have to hold a hearing and give residents the opportunity to vote on bringing a casino to Windsor Locks.

"Really all that we did tonight was agree to enter into negotiations. And we also put some safeguards in so that the people of Windsor locks will have the opportunity to be heard and to vote before anything can possibly happen that would result in a casino here," Windsor Locks First Selectman said.

Three other towns are in the running for a casino.

The tribes are expected to make a decision next month.
