Woman Lied About Milford Attack: Cops

The woman claimed she had been sexually assaulted while jogging.

A woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted while jogging in Milford, now says the attack never happened.

Police had been investigating since the woman told them she was sexually assaulted Nov. 11, while jogging on Morningside Drive around 6 a.m. Her original report stated the attacker had a strong odor of alcohol and had a bottle in his hand.

The report of the sexual assault unnerved people living near Morningside Drive.

After an investigation, detectives discovered information inconsistent with the woman's report, according to police. The woman eventually told police the attack never happened.

Based on circumstances surrounding the incident, Milford Police and the Milford Superior Court will not pursue charges against the woman, according to police. They did not elaborate on what those circumstances were.
