Woodbridge Animal Control Officer Charged With Larceny

Police said she is accused of misappropriation of spaying and neutering funds.

Woodbridge police have arrested an animal control officer after a complaint was filed about misappropriation of funds used for spaying and neutering of dogs and cats.

Police arrested Karen Lombardi, 59, of Milford, on Wednesday and charged her with second-degree larceny.

The Woodbridge Police Department started investigating after receiving a complaint from the State Department of Agriculture Animal Control Division about  the misappropriation of vouchers and funds used for the spaying and neutering in October 2012 and on other dates.

Lombardi was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on July 18.
