Trees Removed Along Escondido's Main Street

A construction worker died on Sunday morning while a crew was clearing a sight line for a land lot in Lisbon.

State police said the accident happened after 8:30 a.m. at 258 River Road.
After the crew removed a tree near the road, one worker was pinned against a tree and run over by the excavator.

The Day of New London reports that the person killed was Charles Wojtkun, 64, 

Ten people have died in storm-related accidents.
